Virtual Pioneer Tour of the Italian Campania area in Rocca Sorrentina
WHEN: Sunday April 7th, 2024

WHAT: Tour of the Italian Campania area in Rocca Sorrentina
Not all of European history took place in the royal courts and stately homes of the ruling classes. To understand how people lived it is important to understand the economics of rural life and what ordinary people spent their time doing.
Rocca Sorrentina has created 2-region, 18th century version of the Italian Campania region, complete with a HUD-based economic system that allows users to experience everyday rural life. It offers the opportunity for an immersive, educational experience. The tour on horseback will visit a few of the important builds in the Campania and some demonstrations of how the HUD-based system works.
The tour will be conducted in text. Era- appropriate attire is encouraged but not required.

WHAT: LGBTQ History Museum and Cultural Center
The LGBTQ History Museum and Cultural Center in Dalton across from the historic Linden Village is a creative and educational space for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender history and culture. Exhibits include LGBT Activism, Influential People, and HIV/AIDS education.
The LGBT History Museum and Cultural Center has existed in several forms since 2006 within the virtual world of Second Life®. The museum has had exhibits at the Second Life Birthday celebrations (including SL6B, SL7B, and SL8B) and the Second Pride Celebrations in 2008 and 2009.

The Museum of Computing History in Blackslough is a creative and educational space to learn about the history of computing. Virtual Pioneer Event: A Return to the Roaring 20's Beach Bash

"The Roaring 20's" was depicted in H.Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby". This was an era of wealth, debauchery, and splendor that ended with the Stock Market Crash of 1929. In America there was the "Gold Coast" on Long Island with huge mansions and plentiful beach parties. Please join us to relive these days by celebrating the end of summer and the arrival of fall with Roaring 20's Music by Koz Kelley.
Feel free to grab your 20's style bathing suits which will be provided at Virtual Pioneers Headquarters and then join us at a 20's beach themed skybox. Come prepared to enjoy good company and good music.

Virtual Pioneer Trivia Night!

This fun filled trivia game will focus on some of the historical themes we have visited this year. We will use the "smarty pants rule"... if someone answers two consecutive questions...they have to sit out the next question - to give others a fair chance. The game will be held using local chat. The top three finishers will receive prestigious "trivia award ribbons" to wear proudly!

Please join us for this special tour of London at the turn of the 20th Century. Our Tour-guide will be from sim owner Mitch Charron. We will begin at Virtual Pioneers HQ and get an introduction of how this sim came to be, its building considerations, purpose and status. Then we will tour around the sim, stopping at various landmarks and explaining the historical connections to WW1 and London/UK during that era. Last stop will be at the Victorian quarter, an overview of Whitechapel, Jack the Ripper, and Walter Sickert. We'll end up at the relaxing BlahBlah Cafe for Q&A.

Thai Cultural Society

Please join the Virtual Pioneers with Pom (PomSoom Resident) and Somyen Resident for a tour of their ongoing project about Thai culture. Their focus is on art traditions with historical context. The location is a flooded valley near the Tenessarim mountains of southern Thailand. Our tour my include a custom built museum and a reproduction of the Prayer Hall at Wat Suthat temple in Bangkok, We will be visiting on Chinese New Year! You won't want to miss this experience.

Bonjour! Please join the Virtual Pioneers for a Self Guided Tour of Paris. This is a 5 sim replica of the city of Paris, France. There is much to see and do. You won't want to miss visiting the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre. Dress in your finest Victorian garb for this adventure. We will start at the VP Headquarters. Viking Settlement

Join us for a tour of a Viking settlement on the coast of Norway, based on 12th century Norse culture. The Vikings worship Norse gods, train in combat, fish, sail, raid and more. We will meet at the VP Headquarters. Costume recommended but not required!
